For twelve years, the Child Lures Prevention Program has collaborated with several Catholic Dioceses to prevent all forms of child victimization, including sexual abuse, harassment, abduction, drugs and bullying/cyberbullying. Their mission is to teach students personal safety skills that will permit them to protect themselves from such crimes.
The Think First & Stay Safe program, used for grades PreK-2, is being implemented in religious education across the United States and is used in our classroom. The goal of this program is not to frighten students but to make them aware and take an active role in protecting themselves when necessary.
If your child comes home from school and brings up the "lures" that we have discussed in school, please engage them in conversation and reinforce the message.
